About the Role

freshket, a fast-growing startup company in the food Supply chain platform, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Inventory Manager to join our team. As the Inventory Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing inventory operations across our four inventory sites. This position requires strong leadership, exceptional organizational skills, and a deep understanding of inventory management principles.


  • Manage inventory across four sites, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and timely delivery of goods.

  • Collaborate with the Distribution Center (DC) team to ensure optimal inventory levels and accurate stock management.

  • Coordinate closely with the Supply team to forecast demand, plan procurement, and maintain an adequate stock of both inhouse and customer stock for our Supply Chain as a Service (SCaaS) offering.

  • Collaborate with the Logistics team to optimize transportation and delivery processes, ensuring smooth movement of inventory between sites.

  • Develop and implement inventory management policies and procedures to maximize efficiency and minimize losses.

  • Conduct regular inventory audits to maintain accurate records and identify discrepancies.

  • Monitor inventory levels and product performance, making data-driven recommendations for improvements or adjustments.

  • Analyze historical data and industry trends to forecast future inventory needs and prevent stockouts or overstock situations.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Finance, and Sales, to align inventory management strategies with business goals.

  • Train and mentor junior inventory staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high-quality work.

  • Reports to: VP of operations

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.

  • Proven experience (at least 5 years) in inventory management, preferably in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Strong knowledge of inventory control principles, methods, and best practices.

  • Proficiency in inventory management software and tools.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.

  • Strong leadership abilities, with the capacity to manage and motivate a team.

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

  • Results-oriented mindset, with a focus on delivering high-quality work and achieving operational goals.
